Swim Week Success

Swimming lessons for 2014 have come to an end for the seniors. For eight consecutive days the children focused on techniques that improved their performance. On the last day it was amazing to see that they still had the energy to compete in races. On reflection all children felt that they had improved their performance and were confident to tackle water activities planned for Yr 5 Adventure Week and Yr 6 Camp Iona starting on Monday.

The Unfolding Story

Knowing where we come from, recognising what influences and has impact on our lives is an important aspect of knowing who we are. Learning how to construct a timeline of important events in our lives was a skill we had to learn during this process.

Class of 2014

Room 8 consists of 30 delightful and interesting children. There are 16 boys and 14 girls. Twelve of the children are Year 6's and eighteen are Year 5's. The children in Room 8 come from a diverse background where 6 cultures are represented and celebrated. Room 8 is one of 5 senior classes and is located at George Street Normal School in Dunedin, New Zealand.
We have had a very positive start to the year and the classroom is already buzzing with excitement and activity. Preparation is well underway for our Year 6 camp at Camp Iona and our Year 5 Adventure Week. Swimming lessons have begun and will continue over the next few weeks. In class we are getting to know each other and have established our classroom guidelines. Watch this space for regular updates of our efforts.
