Science Inquiry - 'FLIGHT'

The main theme for this term is 'Flight'. We began our inquiry by looking at what we thought flight was. Then we classified objects into 'Fly', 'Not Fly' and 'Unsure'. After sharing and justifying our reasons we then created our wonderings.

Which Graph?

This week we have revisited statistics and focused on interpreting information from graphs and making statements based on the data. What we have discovered is that bar graphs are good for showing the number of items and pie graphs are great for showing proportions.

The Challenge Is On!

The challenge is on! We have identified our strengths and set our goals for 2014. Steps are in place so that come Term 2 we are ready to begin. The variety of talent in Room 8 is incredible and it is great to see that for some children they have been able to weave a cooperative element into their presentation.  

It comes as no surprise that the majority of children have chosen to challenge the way they work mathematically and have set personal goals that can be monitored, measured and evaluated. Stepping up to the challenge requires knowing the starting point and having a finishing line in sight. Good luck Room 8 and remember that you can change your intelligence and ability through EFFORT.
